Emergency
Health Services Living-Learning Community
Announcing a unique and exciting
opportunity for EHS majors and minors…
The Department of Emergency Health
Services, in cooperation with the Office of Residential Life, is pleased
to announce the formation of the EHS Living – Learning Community. This
unique learning and living experience will provide an opportunity for EHS
students to come together and share in the experiences of living and learning
at UMBC. Following a model developed by the Office of Residential Life,
EHS majors and minors will be assigned to a designated resident hall floor.
The Resident Assistant will be an EHS major and peer mentors will be available
to students. In addition, open space on the resident hall floor will be
for the exclusive use of students participating in the living – learning
community. The community experience is also planned to support the forthcoming
UMBC*EMS Bike Medic project. On-call bike team first responders will be
able to respond from the community floor for on-campus incidents. The EHS
Living – Learning Community provides the EHS major with a total life experience
designed to strengthen learning and develop life skills in a communal environment.
