UMBC has negotiated a nightly rate of
$79.00 plus taxes (13%). When making your reservation, you must
reference "EMERGENCY MEDICINE" to
receive the special rate. Reservations must be made no later than
NOVEMBER 1, 2009 in order
to guarantee a room.
The course format is lecture only with
verbal
scenario discussions. No skills stations are conducted.
Clothing and Local Weather~~Please check
the
weather forecast before traveling. Dress comfortably and in layers (no
need for uniforms). The classroom temperature can vary throughout the
day.
Eating ~~ On
and Off Course Site:
Coffee and Tea will be
provided
in the morning.
Due to external controls and in an effort
to keep course cost down, UMBC is no longer capable of providing snacks
or additional refreshments. Please feel free to bring your own
snacks and refreshments with you to class.
You will be given one (1) hour for lunch.
Within the Ramada Inn is the Parkstone Grille
which has daily specials and a full menu available.
There are many fast food options within
five (5) miles (10-15) minutes of the Ramada Inn at Arundel Mills
Mall. If you are leaving the Ramada Inn for lunch,
we suggest that you plan on carry-out and bring it back to the Ramada
Inn.
Continuing Education:
Continuing education hours
will be awarded via CECBEMS (Continuing
Education Coordinating Board for EMS) www.cecbems.org.
You will be provided with a certificate and paperwork suitable for
National Registry re-registration purposes at the end of the course.
Pennsylvania residents will be required to
submit to their region a con-ed by endorsement form along with a copy
of the schedule and certificate.
Virginia residents will be required to fill
out a bubble sheet and return it to UMBC by the end of class.
